- Closed casinos: short answers
Most of the casinos and poker rooms this site covered between 2010 and 2020 are gone, and a few famous names live on under new owners. 21Nova, Full Tilt Poker, PokerRoom, the Epic Poker League and PrimeDice all closed on dates we can document. Rushmore Casino, Online Vegas Casino, Fortune Room and Jackpot Bingo have no closure record we could verify, so we mark them “status could not be confirmed”. 888casino, partypoker, bwin, Betfair, Mecca Bingo and PokerStars still trade.
This page is a status record, not a recommendation. Several of the surviving brands serve markets this site does not cover, such as the UK. If you were looking for a casino to join today, our current casino reviews list brands we have checked in October 2026, each with its licence and complaint route.
Status table: old brands in October 2026
The table gives each brand’s last confirmed status and the record behind it. “Closed” means a company notice, court record or trade report says so. “Could not be confirmed” means we found no reliable record either way, only archive captures or directory claims. Dates come from the cited source, and the live checks were made on 15 October 2026.

What happened to 21Nova Casino?
21Nova closed in January 2022. It was one of three secondary casino brands in the William Hill group that the company decided to shut so it could focus on its core William Hill and Mr Green sites; EuroGrand and William Hill Casino Club went at the same time. Trade press reported the plan on 25 November 2021: marketing stopped the next day, new sign-ups ended on 29 November 2021, and 24 January 2022 was the last day to play or withdraw.
After that date the 21nova.com homepage became a short goodbye message, which archive.org captured in July 2022. It told players with money left in an account to write to [email protected]. If you still have a balance from 21Nova, that address and William Hill’s current owner are the only places to ask; there is no successor casino carrying the name. William Hill’s international business has belonged to 888 Holdings (now evoke plc) since 2022.
What happened to Rushmore Casino?
We could not confirm when or how Rushmore Casino ended. Archive.org holds regular captures of rushmorecasino.com from 2008 up to June 2012 and then nothing usable, which suggests the site stopped around that time. We found no regulator notice, court record or company statement explaining the closure, and the old review on this site said nothing about who held its licence.
Directory sites describe Rushmore as a Realtime Gaming casino that accepted US players and say balances were lost when it vanished. We could not check those claims against a primary record, so we repeat them only as unconfirmed. A site called rushmoreonlinecasino.com exists today, but nothing we found links it to the original operator, and an unrelated land-based venue in Rapid City, South Dakota, uses a similar name. Treat any “Rushmore” casino offer as a new, separate business and check its licence from scratch with our licence-check steps.
What happened to Online Vegas Casino?
Online Vegas Casino’s status could not be confirmed. Our 2010 review described a casino that offered both a download client and instant play, with round-the-clock support, but it did not name the operating company. By April 2022, archive.org shows onlinevegascasino.com as a list of other casinos with bonus buttons, so the original casino was no longer at that address.
Review sites disagree about what became of the brand. Some link it to a long-running site with a similar name, Vegas Casino Online, which one large complaint portal marks as terminated, while another listing describes a Curaçao-registered company running that name in 2026. Those may be different businesses using similar words. We do not treat any current “Vegas” casino as the one reviewed here in 2010.
What were the CryptoLogic casinos, and what became of them?
CryptoLogic belonged to the first wave of firms selling software for internet casinos. InterCasino, launched in 1996, ran on its software, and for years the company licensed its games to well-known brands; William Hill used CryptoLogic for its casino until the late 2000s. When the old version of this site wrote about “the CryptoLogic casino websites”, it meant this family of brands.
The corporate story ran in two steps, both documented by the buyer. In 2012 Amaya Gaming, the Montreal company that later bought PokerStars, completed its takeover of CryptoLogic. On 11 February 2014 Amaya announced it had closed the sale of WagerLogic Malta Holdings, the consumer business behind InterCasino, InterPoker and InterBingo, to Goldstar Acquisitionco Inc. for US$70 million before adjustments. Amaya kept supplying software to the business under a services agreement.
InterCasino’s website still loaded on 15 October 2026, but its homepage did not name an operator or a licence number. Without those two facts we cannot tell you who runs it today or which regulator you could complain to, so its status stays unconfirmed. The other brands that once ran CryptoLogic games moved to other software years ago.
Is Fortune Lounge the same as CryptoLogic?
No. The old site grouped Fortune Room with the CryptoLogic casinos, which was a mistake. Fortune Room belonged to the Fortune Lounge Group, a family of casinos that ran Microgaming software. Its best-known sister sites were Royal Vegas and Spin Palace. Fortune Lounge and CryptoLogic were separate businesses on separate platforms.
As for Fortune Room itself, we could not confirm its status. Archive.org shows fortuneroom.com forwarding to fortuneroomcasino.com in 2024, and that page listed welcome offers from several different casinos rather than a working Fortune Room lobby. Whether the original casino closed or its players were moved to a sister site, we found no notice that says. Royal Vegas and Spin Palace are outside the scope of this page; check any of them on the regulator’s own register before signing up.
How did PokerRoom close twice?
PokerRoom.com was one of the first real-money poker sites and the original home of the Ongame software. Its owner at the time, bwin, shut it in April 2009 after about a decade of play. In early 2012 the brand came back on the Ongame network (the old version of this site celebrated the return), and on 19 February 2013 it closed again. Players had until 19 March 2013 to cash out and were pointed to partypoker.
The network behind it did not last much longer. bwin.party sold Ongame to Amaya at the end of 2012, and reports in September 2016 said the Ongame network was closing that autumn. Today the pokerroom.com domain only redirects, and no poker room trades under the name.
What happened to Full Tilt Poker?
Full Tilt Poker no longer exists as a poker room. On 15 April 2011, known in poker as Black Friday, US prosecutors unsealed charges against Full Tilt, PokerStars and Absolute Poker and seized their main domains. That summer the Alderney Gambling Control Commission suspended and later revoked Full Tilt’s licences, and players around the world were left unable to withdraw.
On 31 July 2012 the US Department of Justice announced a settlement under which PokerStars forfeited US$547 million and acquired Full Tilt’s assets, taking on the job of repaying Full Tilt’s players outside the United States, about US$184 million. PokerStars relaunched Full Tilt in November 2012, moved it onto the PokerStars platform in 2016 and shut the Full Tilt apps in February 2021. When we checked on 15 October 2026, fulltiltpoker.com redirected to pokerstars.com.
What was the Epic Poker League?
The Epic Poker League was a live tournament series for top-ranked professionals, launched in 2011 by Federated Sports and Gaming. It was not an online room, but the old site followed it closely. Only three of the planned events took place before the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on 28 February 2012, listing more than US$7.8 million in liabilities.
In June 2012 Pinnacle Entertainment bought the bankrupt company’s assets at auction, including the Epic Poker brand and the Global Poker Index. The league never returned. By 2017 the epicpokerleague.com domain showed only a registrar’s holding page.
Is Jackpot Bingo still running?
We could not confirm Jackpot Bingo’s status. The old site wrote about it in 2011 as a redesigned UK bingo site with 90-ball, 80-ball and 75-ball rooms. Archive.org last captured a working jackpotbingo.co.uk in October 2017, still offering a first-deposit bingo bonus, and on 15 October 2026 the domain did not respond at all.
Bingo directories attribute the name to different operators and networks over the years, which suggests more than one business has used it. As with Rushmore, treat any current “Jackpot Bingo” as a separate site and check its licence before you trust it with money.
When did PrimeDice close?
PrimeDice closed in 2025. It was one of the earliest Bitcoin dice sites and was run by the founders who later built Stake. In August 2025 it told players to withdraw their funds by 8 October and to continue at Stake.com; betting ended on 8 October 2025. No transfer of balances to Stake was promised, so the withdrawal deadline was the one that counted.
Some pages give the year as 2026, which is wrong. For the successor site’s licence, limits and its own 1% edge dice game, see our Stake review, and for the wider field of coin-paying sites see our crypto casino guide.
Which old names still operate, and who owns them now?
Six brands the old site wrote about are still trading in October 2026, though most now sit inside larger groups. None of this is a recommendation to join them: they are licensed mainly for the UK and regulated European markets, which this site does not cover, and we do not rate them here.
- 888casino. The parent, 888 Holdings plc, renamed itself evoke plc on 13 May 2024. The consumer brands 888casino, 888sport and 888poker kept their names, alongside William Hill and Mr Green.
- partypoker and bwin. Both belong to Entain. A November 2025 approved-brands list from the Government of Gibraltar names them under ElectraWorks Limited.
- Betfair and PokerStars. Both are Flutter Entertainment brands. PokerStars joined Flutter when the all-share merger with The Stars Group completed on 5 May 2020.
- Mecca Bingo. The Rank Group lists MeccaBingo.com among its digital brands.
Timeline: when each name ended
Put in date order, the closures show how the industry changed: poker rooms fell first, after US enforcement and consolidation, and casino brands followed as groups trimmed their portfolios. The rows below repeat only dates documented in the sources above; brands without a confirmed date are left out rather than estimated.

What warning signs come before a casino closes?
Orderly closures, like 21Nova’s, come with a notice and a withdrawal window. Disorderly ones, the kind directory sites describe for Rushmore, usually show warning signs first. None of these proves a casino is failing, but two or more together are a reason to withdraw your balance and stop depositing.
- Withdrawals slow down for everyone. Pending times stretch from days to weeks, and support gives new reasons each time.
- The footer changes. The operating company, licence number or seal disappears, or a new company name appears without any notice to players.
- The licence stops validating. The seal no longer opens the regulator’s page, or the register shows the licence as suspended, revoked or expired.
- Payment methods vanish. Card and bank options disappear from the cashier while deposit-only methods stay.
- Terms are rewritten in your disfavour. New fees, lower withdrawal caps or longer verification steps appear without a clear reason.
- Bonuses become unusually generous. A sudden flood of high-value offers can be a sign the site needs deposits quickly.
When you see these signs, the evidence file described on our complaints page becomes even more valuable: dated screenshots of your balance and the terms are what any dispute body will ask for later.
Where do the old reviews on this site now point?
Earlier versions of this site published reviews and news posts about every brand in the table. Those pages now lead here, because their facts (bonuses, software, licences) were out of date and some brands no longer exist. The old 888 review, for instance, described a casino whose parent company has since changed name and bought William Hill; a fresh account belongs on a page that checks the current licence, not in a 2011 post.
Old guides about game rules and odds were folded into our casino games and house edge guide, and old poker news has no successor page. If you followed a link from an old forum post and landed here, the table above should tell you whether the brand you were looking for still exists, and our review hub shows the brands we have checked this month.
How can you check whether a casino has closed?
A casino rarely announces its own collapse loudly, so you have to piece the status together. The fastest checks take under ten minutes and use public records only. Work through them in this order, and stop as soon as one gives a clear answer.
- Load the site and read the footer. A working casino names its operating company and licence number. A homepage with neither, or one that only lists other casinos’ bonuses, is a warning sign.
- Look the licence up on the regulator’s register. Use the seal link for Anjouan and Tobique licences, and the register search for Malta, Estonia and Curaçao. Our licence-check guide explains each register.
- Search the regulator’s news and enforcement pages. Suspensions and revocations are usually published there before trade press picks them up.
- Check the Wayback Machine. Archive.org shows when a site last looked normal and whether a closure notice replaced it, as with 21Nova.
- Read dated trade press. Closures by large groups are reported with dates; small offshore sites often are not.
What should you do if a casino holding your money closes?
Act quickly and in writing, because closing operators usually set a short window for withdrawals. 21Nova gave players about eight weeks; PrimeDice gave about two months. After the deadline, recovery depends on the licence, the company and how much evidence you kept.
- Request a withdrawal of the full balance at once and save the confirmation screen.
- Email the support address in the closure notice and keep the reply.
- Save your account history, deposit records and identity checks before the account is switched off.
- If the money does not arrive, follow the route for the licence the casino held, set out on our casino complaints page.
- For a card deposit that was never credited, ask your card issuer about a chargeback; it cannot recover lost bets.
A closure can be stressful if a large balance is involved. If you notice you are chasing it with new deposits elsewhere, stop and use the tools on our responsible gambling page.
Why do so many old casino brands disappear?
Most closures in this list fall into three groups. Large companies retire secondary brands to save on licences and marketing, as William Hill did with 21Nova. Regulation and law enforcement end others, as Black Friday ended Full Tilt in its original form. And small offshore sites simply stop trading, often without a notice, which is why Rushmore and similar names leave so little record.
The lesson for players is the same in each case: a famous name is not a safeguard. What protects you is a licence you can verify, a named dispute route and a withdrawal history you can document. Newer brands carry their own risks, which our guide to new casinos covers in detail.
Closed casinos: short answers
Can I still withdraw money from 21Nova?
The last day to play or withdraw was 24 January 2022. The closure notice asked players with remaining funds to contact [email protected]; there is no 21Nova successor casino.
Did PokerStars pay Full Tilt players back?
Under the 31 July 2012 settlement with the US Department of Justice, PokerStars took over Full Tilt’s assets and the repayment of players outside the US, about US$184 million.
Is 888casino closed?
No. 888casino still operates. Its parent company changed its name from 888 Holdings plc to evoke plc on 13 May 2024, but the brand name stayed.
When exactly did PrimeDice stop?
Betting ended on 8 October 2025, after a closure notice in August 2025 told players to withdraw by that date and continue at Stake.com.
Why do you say “status could not be confirmed” for some brands?
Because we found no regulator notice, company statement or dated report for them, only archive captures or directory claims. We would rather say so than guess a closure date.
Was Fortune Room a CryptoLogic casino?
No. Fortune Room was part of the Fortune Lounge Group and ran Microgaming software. The old version of this site grouped it with the CryptoLogic casinos by mistake.
