Six casinos we review run live dealer tables that we could confirm from their own pages or their regulator’s records: Slot Owl, Winsly, Slot Pony, BitStarz, Stake and 7Bit Casino. Evolution is the studio named most often. Slot Owl, Winsly and Slot Pony share the top score of 4.3 because they pair live tables with EU licences, while the three crypto brands trade a weaker licence for coin payments.

The live casino ledger
The column that surprises most players is the fifth one. Live games rarely help with a bonus: at the EU-licensed brands they count for nothing, and at BitStarz for about 5%. Scores come from our rating method and do not depend on the size of a live lobby.
| Casino | Score | Licence (register) | Live studios we could confirm | Live bets towards playthrough | Minimum age | Who cannot join |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slot Owl | 4.3 | EMTA HKT000082/HKT000083, Frenwall Limited (Estonian operator list) | Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Lucky Streak, Amusnet, Bet Games | None (bonus terms 8.3) | 21 for casino | US and 30+ excluded territories; no UK licence |
| Winsly | 4.3 | EMTA HKT000082/HKT000083, Frenwall Limited (Estonian operator list) | Evolution, Stakelogic Live | Welcome spins are wager-free; any cash bonus excludes live (8.3) | 21 for casino | US and other excluded territories; offer closed to Finland and Estonia |
| Slot Pony | 4.3 | MGA/B2C/1055/2024, Elmst Limited (MGA register) | Evolution (approved on the licence) | None (welcome terms) | 18 | US plus roughly 30 other territories; not UK-licensed; Finnish residents get no welcome offer |
| BitStarz | 3.9 | Gareton B.V. under CGA licence OGL/2024/165/0185 (cga.cw) | Live dealer section; studios shown in the lobby | About 5% (bonus terms 3.5) | 18 | US, UK, France, Spain, Netherlands and others |
| Stake | 3.6 | Medium Rare N.V. under CGA licence OGL/2024/1451/0918 (cga.cw) | Evolution among its providers | No welcome bonus to clear | 18 | 44 countries plus Ontario |
| 7Bit Casino | 3.6 | Tobique 0000091, Saphirix Solutions SRL (footer seal) | Live casino section; studios shown in the lobby | Set in bonus terms; deposits on live tables need 10x turnover | 18 | US, UK, Netherlands, Belgium and others |
Two brands we review are missing on purpose. Quickz and Taste Vegas hide their lobbies behind sign-in, and the studio approvals on their operators’ Malta licences name no live provider, so we could not confirm live tables. Readers in Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany have locally licensed markets; we do not recommend these brands to them.
Which studios run the tables?
We name a studio only where an operator page or a regulator’s record does. Evolution appears at four of the six: on Elmst’s Malta licence for Slot Pony, in the lobby previews of Slot Owl and Winsly, and in Stake’s provider directory. Slot Owl’s preview also shows Fortune Roulette from Pragmatic Play, Showtime Roulette from Amusnet, Wheel of Fortune from Bet Games and Blackjack VIP from Lucky Streak.
Winsly’s home page tiles show Crazy Time, Monopoly Live, Lightning Roulette and a branded Winsly Blackjack table, all from Evolution, plus Super Stake Roulette from Stakelogic Live. BitStarz and 7Bit list live casino sections without naming studios on pages we could read; their lobbies show the provider on each table. The studio matters because it sets the rules, limits and side bets, while the casino sets the bonus and cashier rules around them.
What is the house edge at live tables?
A live table follows the same mathematics as its rulebook, so the edge depends on the variant, not on the camera. Wizard of Odds puts single-zero roulette at 2.70% and double-zero at 5.26%. In eight-deck baccarat it gives 1.06% on Banker, 1.24% on Player and 14.36% on a Tie paying 8 to 1. Blackjack ranges widely with the rules and your play.
| Game and bet | House edge | Note from the source |
|---|---|---|
| European roulette, any bet | 2.70% | One zero: 1/37 |
| American roulette, most bets | 5.26% | Two zeros: 1/19 |
| American roulette, 0-00-1-2-3 | 7.89% | Pays 6 to 1; the worst bet on the layout |
| French roulette, even money with la partage | 1.35% | Half the stake returned when zero lands |
| Baccarat, Banker (8 decks) | 1.06% | Wins pay 19 to 20, a 5% commission |
| Baccarat, Player (8 decks) | 1.24% | Even money |
| Baccarat, Tie at 8 to 1 (8 decks) | 14.36% | 14.44% with 6 decks |
| Live blackjack, games ranked by Wizard of Odds | 0.01% to 0.45% | Evolution’s Infinite Blackjack at 0.45%, assuming basic strategy |
Two blackjack rules move the number most. A table paying 6 to 5 on blackjack instead of 3 to 2 adds 1.39% to the house edge, and a dealer who hits soft 17 adds 0.22%, according to Wizard of Odds. Insurance pays 2 to 1 when the dealer has a ten-value hole card, and it is generally a bet to refuse. Our casino games guide covers the software versions of the same games.
Live roulette: how a round works
A live roulette round has three stages: a betting window on your screen, the spin, and settlement. While the timer runs, you place chips on the digital layout; when it closes, the dealer or an automatic launcher spins the ball, and the result is read by the wheel’s sensors and settled in seconds. Late bets are simply not accepted.
The wheel decides the price. A single-zero wheel has 37 pockets and a double-zero wheel 38, so always check the zeros before betting. Straight-up numbers pay 35 to 1 on standard tables. Multiplier games such as Lightning Roulette change those payouts, and their figures are printed in each game’s help panel rather than taken from the classic table.
- European tables: one zero, 2.70% on every bet.
- French tables: one zero, with half-back (la partage) or imprisonment (en prison) rules on even chances, about 1.35% to 1.39% on those bets.
- American tables: two zeros, 5.26%, and 7.89% on the five-number bet.
- Auto or speed versions: same wheel maths, more spins an hour, so the expected loss per hour rises.
No betting system changes these numbers. A doubling plan such as the Martingale only rearranges when you win and lose; with EUR 85 and a EUR 5 start, the sequence 5, 10, 20, 40 leaves too little for a fifth step after four losses in a row, and on a single-zero wheel four reds missed in a row has a probability of about 7% ((19/37) to the fourth power). At 40 spins an hour on a EUR 5 even-money stake, a 2.70% edge costs about EUR 5.40 an hour on average.
Why live games rarely help with a bonus
Most bonus terms either exclude live tables or count them at a fraction, because low-edge games would make playthrough too cheap. On the platform behind Slot Owl, Winsly and Slot Pony, clause 8.3 of the bonus terms says bets on live casino and software table games do not count at all. BitStarz’s clause 3.5 counts table, live and instant-win games at about 5%.
The result can be dramatic. Clearing EUR 60 of bonus at 40x the bonus means EUR 2,400 of eligible bets. At 5% weighting, that becomes EUR 48,000 of live bets, which is why no sensible plan clears a bonus at a live table. Two practical rules follow:
- Play live games with cash balance only, and finish or forfeit any bonus first.
- Check deposit-turnover rules too: 7Bit requires deposits played on table and live games to be turned over ten times before withdrawal, against three times for slots.
Readers who mainly play live tables may be better served by a wager-free offer, such as Winsly’s spins, or by no bonus at all. Our bonus maths guide shows the arithmetic for any offer.
What happens if the stream drops?
Connection problems are the live player’s most common worry. Frenwall’s player terms for Slot Owl say that if a game is miscarried or aborted and then terminated, all wagers are voided and the stake is refunded to your account; a system malfunction can also void bets. Your game history then shows whether a given round was settled or voided, which is the first thing to check after a dropped stream.
Keep a note of the round ID and the time whenever something looks wrong, and contact support before the next session. If the casino cannot resolve it, the dispute body named in its terms takes over: eCOGRA for Slot Pony; for Slot Owl and Winsly, a complaint to Estonia’s tax and customs board, which regulates the operator but does not arbitrate (its consumer disputes committee hears only Estonian residents); and the outside bodies described on our complaint routes page for the offshore brands.
Stake limits at live tables
None of the six brands publishes table limits on a page outside the game itself, so we do not quote ranges. Limits are set per table and shown in the game window, usually as a minimum and maximum per bet type. Two casino rules still cap what you can do: while a bonus is active at Slot Owl, Winsly or Slot Pony, the maximum bet is EUR 5, and at BitStarz 0.00006 BTC or 5 EUR. Withdrawal caps then limit how quickly a large live win can leave, so read the payout section of the review before staking big.
Choosing a live casino: a short checklist
- Confirm the casino accepts your country and age; Slot Owl and Winsly require 21 for casino play.
- Check the licence on the register or seal; our licence-check guide lists each method.
- Open a table’s help panel and check the rules: single or double zero, 3 to 2 or 6 to 5, dealer action on soft 17.
- Decline bonuses you cannot clear on the games you play.
- Set a session time limit before you sit down; live rounds are fast and the betting window keeps reopening.
- Note round IDs if anything goes wrong.
If live sessions start running longer than planned, the tools and free helplines on our responsible gambling page can help.
Questions readers send us about live dealer casinos
Which live dealer casino scores highest?
Slot Owl, Winsly and Slot Pony share 4.3 out of 5. All three combine live tables with an EU licence, from Estonia for the first two and from Malta for Slot Pony.
Can I clear a bonus by playing live dealer games?
Usually not. At Slot Owl, Winsly and Slot Pony, live bets do not count at all under the bonus terms; at BitStarz they count about 5%.
What is the best bet at live baccarat?
Banker, with a house edge of 1.06% in eight-deck games according to Wizard of Odds. The Tie bet at 8 to 1 carries 14.36%.
Is live roulette fairer than online roulette?
The odds are the same when the wheel is the same: 2.70% on single zero and 5.26% on double zero. Live roulette uses a physical wheel; software roulette uses a tested random number generator.
What happens to my bet if the live stream freezes?
Under Slot Owl’s player terms, a miscarried or aborted game that is terminated has all wagers voided and refunded. Your game history shows whether each round was settled or voided.
