Stake.com is for adults of at least 18 (more if your country requires it) who live outside what its terms call the “Prohibited Jurisdictions”. Clause 14.3 lists 44 countries plus the Canadian province of Ontario, among them the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Brazil and Mexico, and clause 14.4 treats VPN use as a breach. Medium Rare N.V., company 145353 in Curaçao, runs it on licence OGL/2024/1451/0918 from the island’s gaming authority. Stake is the reference brand for crypto originals and volume-based rewards, but it has no welcome match and publishes no payout time. Our score: 3.6 out of 5.

Score sheet

Our rating method gives Stake 3.55, shown as 3.6. Here is the evidence line by line.

Where you can and cannot use Stake

The prohibited list is long enough that many readers of this site are on it. Clause 14.3 names Afghanistan, Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, the Cayman Islands, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Curaçao, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liberia, Libya, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, the Netherlands, North Korea, Ontario, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, South Sudan, Spain, Sudan, Syria, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States and Zimbabwe. It applies to residents and to anyone physically there, so a visitor on holiday in France is covered too.

Three regional points help avoid confusion. Stake.us is a separate sweepstakes product for the US, not this casino. In Brazil, Colombia and Peru, Stake’s licences page lists separate local companies and domains, so stake.com is not the site for those countries. In Canada, Ontario is excluded; other provinces are not listed, but provincial rules still apply to you. Trade press reported in October 2026 that Stake had received an Alberta licence ahead of a launch there; check the Alberta regulator’s list rather than headlines before relying on it.

How do you check Stake’s licence?

Clause 1.1 of the terms and the licences page both name Medium Rare N.V., Seru Loraweg 17 B, Curaçao, and licence OGL/2024/1451/0918. Payments are handled by agents in Cyprus, Medium Rare Limited (HE 410775) and MRS Tech Ltd (HE 477481). The licence was issued under Curaçao’s 2024 ordinance on games of chance, which replaced the old master-licence system; reviews that still say “Curaçao eGaming” are out of date.

To verify, compare the footer details with the Curaçao Gaming Authority’s information at cga.cw. Keep in mind that the authority’s licensing portal was taken offline after unauthorised access reported on 17 and 22 September 2026, and the CGA has said existing licences remain valid. Our licence-check guide explains how to proceed if the register does not load.

No welcome match: how Stake pays players back instead

Stake does not run the multi-deposit match packages most casinos use. According to its VIP guide, new players can redeem a welcome code within 24 hours of signing up, with its own terms shown in the account. The main value comes later, through the VIP Club, which is based on how much you wager. Sports bets count three times faster towards levels than casino bets.

Level Casino wagering to reach it What Stake’s guide adds
Bronze $10,000 Rakeback and weekly boosts
Silver $50,000 Higher rakeback and boosts
Gold $100,000 Higher rakeback and boosts
Platinum I-III $250,000 to $1,000,000 Daily reloads
Platinum IV-VI $2.5m to $10m A dedicated VIP host
Diamond I-IV $25m to $250m Host-managed reloads and bonuses

Weekly boosts appear on Saturdays at 12:30 GMT and depend on your level and last seven days of play. Stake also advertises a weekly $75,000 raffle with one ticket per $1,000 wagered, and a $100,000 race on its promotions page.

What a VIP level really costs

Wagering is not free: the house edge turns every dollar wagered into an expected cost. That is the right way to judge a volume-based scheme, because rewards are paid back out of that cost.

Target Wagered Expected cost on a 1% edge game Expected cost on a 96% RTP slot
Bronze $10,000 $100 $400
Silver $50,000 $500 $2,000
Gold $100,000 $1,000 $4,000

Stake does not publish fixed rakeback percentages, so we cannot say how much of that cost comes back. What the table shows is that game choice matters far more than the scheme: the same Gold level costs four times as much, on average, if you get there on 96% slots rather than on a 1% edge game. Chasing a level is never a reason to play more than you planned. Our bonus maths guide applies the same idea to match bonuses.

The deposit-turnover rule

Clauses 8.5 and 8.10 require you to wager 100% of a deposit’s value before any crypto or fiat withdrawal. Deposit 0.02 ETH and you need 0.02 ETH of bets placed before you can cash out. It exists to stop money laundering rather than to protect a bonus, yet the effect for you is the same: money paid in has to be played once before it can leave.

Coins, networks and buying crypto

Stake’s crypto guide lists more than 20 coins and tokens, including BTC, ETH, LTC, DOGE, BCH, TRX, USDT, USDC, DAI, BNB, SOL and several meme and DeFi tokens. Balances can be shown in many fiat currencies, but the wallet holds the coin you deposited, so its value moves with the market.

  1. Open Wallet and choose Deposit.
  2. Pick the coin, then the network. Tokens such as USDT and USDC run on several chains, and sending on the wrong one can lose the funds.
  3. Copy the address or scan the QR code into your own wallet.
  4. Send a small test amount the first time you use a network.
  5. Wait for confirmations; the balance appears once Stake credits it.

Players without crypto can buy it inside the wallet through MoonPay (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) or Swapped.com. Clause 7.9 says other local methods and their limits vary by country and appear in the wallet. More on networks and fees is on our crypto casinos page.

Withdrawals: what the terms do and do not say

Stake’s terms describe the rules but not the timing. That gap is why its banking criterion scores 4.0 rather than 4.5 in our method.

  • Clause 8.1: Stake can refuse a withdrawal until it is satisfied the account holder is making it.
  • Clause 8.3: withdrawals go back through the deposit method where possible and can be split across methods.
  • Clause 8.7: the minimum is shown in the wallet.
  • Clause 8.8: several pending requests can be rejected and replaced by one combined request.
  • Clause 8.9: Stake may charge a withdrawal fee at its discretion, and your bank or wallet may add its own.
  • No processing time and no maximum withdrawal are published.

Once a crypto payout leaves Stake, arrival depends on the blockchain: a busy Bitcoin network is slower and costlier than a stablecoin on a low-fee chain.

Because no timetable is published, plan around the unknown. Withdraw winnings you want to keep rather than leaving them in the wallet, make your first withdrawal a small one to see how long it takes on your chosen network, and keep the transaction hash from the wallet history. If a payout seems stuck, that hash lets anyone check on a public block explorer whether the coins have left Stake, which is the first thing support will ask about. Remember too that a crypto balance carries price risk: a win counted in bitcoin may be worth more or less in your own currency by the time it reaches your bank.

Is Stake a no-KYC casino?

No, and its terms say so plainly. Clause 4.8 lets Stake ask for any identity or location documents it considers necessary, at any time, and limit play or payments until it is satisfied. Clause 8.12 allows extra checks on any withdrawal, and clause 8.6 enhanced due diligence before fiat payouts. You can usually sign up with an email and play small crypto amounts, but expect to be asked for identity papers, an address document or an explanation of where your money comes from as your play grows. Have documents ready before a large balance is waiting.

Games: Originals, slots and live tables

The lobby splits into Stake Originals, slots, live casino, game shows, an Enhanced RTP section, bonus-buy slots, Stake Poker and table categories. The provider directory includes Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Hacksaw Gaming, Nolimit City, Play’n GO, BGaming, PG Soft, Spribe, Novomatic, Games Global, ELK Studios and Big Time Gaming, among many others, and the sportsbook sits on the same balance.

Originals are built in-house and provably fair. Stake Dice, on the site since 2017, publishes a 99% return to player: you set a target on a 0 to 100 roll, choose over or under, and the payout follows the win chance. Limbo, Plinko, Mines, Keno, Crash, Hilo and Wheel follow the same seed-based fairness system.

What provably fair proves, and what it does not

Before each round Stake commits to a hashed server seed; you provide or accept a client seed; each bet adds a nonce. When you rotate the seed pair, Stake reveals the old server seed so you can hash it, compare it with the earlier hash and recompute every result. That proves results were not changed after you bet. It does not change the house edge, and it applies only to Originals: third-party slots and live tables rely on the providers’ certified random number generators and studio procedures. Our casino games guide lists house edges by game.

Limits, breaks and self-exclusion at Stake

Stake’s “Stake Smart” pages offer loss and wager limits per day, week or month and a daily deposit limit set in dollars. A tighter limit applies the moment you set it, while loosening or deleting a deposit limit only takes effect after a 24-hour wait, and crypto sent above your limit is held and released as the limit resets. You can also exclude yourself from specific products, take a short break or choose indefinite self-exclusion of at least six months. Our responsible gambling page lists free international help.

Complaints

Clauses 23 and 29 send complaints to customer support first; clause 25 puts the agreement under Curaçao law and courts. The Curaçao Gaming Authority does not rule on individual disputes, so an unresolved case goes to one of the dispute bodies the CGA has certified (seven, on the authority’s list dated 31 August 2026). Keep bet IDs, transaction hashes and screenshots from the start. Our complaint routes page sets out the steps.

Rakeback against a match bonus: a worked comparison

To compare Stake with a casino that gives a classic match, imagine two players who each stake $6,000 on slots with a 96% return over a month. Both carry the same expected cost from the game itself: about $240.

  • The match-bonus player deposited $150, took a 100% match with 40x playthrough on the bonus, and so had to reach exactly that $6,000 of bets to clear $150 of bonus money. If the playthrough is completed, the bonus offsets $150 of the $240 expected cost, though only after meeting a deadline and a bet limit.
  • The Stake player has no bonus to clear and no deadline. Whatever rakeback and boosts Stake pays on $6,000 of wagering offsets part of the same $240, but because Stake does not publish its rates, nobody outside the account can say how much.

The honest conclusion: a published match is easier to value, while rakeback is more flexible and never locks your deposit. A player who prefers low-edge games such as Dice cuts the expected cost by three quarters, from about $240 to $60 on the same $6,000, which matters more than either reward scheme.

How Stake compares with the other crypto casinos we review

Casino Score Licence Welcome offer Written payout target
BitStarz 3.9 Curaçao Up to 5 BTC + 180 spins, 40x bonus Within one hour where possible
Stake 3.6 Curaçao No standard match; VIP rewards None published
7Bit Casino 3.6 Tobique (most visitors) 325% package, 35x bonus None published
Tenobet 3.1 Anjouan 400% slots package, terms per offer Usually within 3 banking days

Before your first deposit: a short checklist

  • Confirm your country, and the country you will be in when you play, is not on the clause 14.3 list.
  • Set deposit, loss and wager limits in the account before sending any coins.
  • Choose one coin and one network and use them consistently, so withdrawals return to an address you control.
  • Keep your passport or ID card and a recent address document ready, because checks can come at any time under clause 4.8.
  • Remember that every deposit must be wagered once before withdrawal, so deposit only what you mean to play.
  • If you intend to bet on sport as well, read the sportsbook rules separately: casino limits and sports limits are set in different places.

Four common misunderstandings

“Stake and Stake.us are the same.” They are separate products. Stake.us is a sweepstakes site for the United States; Stake.com, reviewed here, does not accept US players at all.

“Crypto means no identity checks.” The terms reserve the right to ask for documents at any time and to hold withdrawals until checks are complete. Small, early play without documents is not a promise for later.

“Provably fair means the odds are fair.” It means the result of each round can be checked against seeds committed before you bet. The house edge is still built in: 1% on Dice, more on most other games.

“Rakeback makes play profitable.” Rakeback returns a share of what the house edge takes, never more than it. Over time, a player who wagers more loses more on average, even with a higher VIP level.

Who Stake suits, and who should look elsewhere

Stake suits experienced crypto players who prefer low-edge in-house games, want casino and sport on one balance and are comfortable with an offshore licence. It suits players who want a sign-up bonus poorly, as well as anyone who needs a published payout time, and anyone living in one of the 44 prohibited countries cannot use it at all. Readers who value regulator-backed dispute routes above everything will find higher licence scores among the EU-licensed casinos on our shortlist.

Stake and PrimeDice

Stake was founded by the team behind PrimeDice, one of the first Bitcoin dice sites. PrimeDice announced its closure in August 2025 and stopped betting on 8 October 2025, telling players to withdraw and use Stake.com; no balance migration was promised. PrimeDice is listed with other closed brands on our closed casinos page.

Verdict

Stake scores 3.6. Its Originals, provably fair tools, broad provider list and detailed limit settings are best-in-class for crypto players, and a single balance covers casino and sport. The model has real costs: no welcome offer, no published payout time, KYC that can arrive at any moment, and a prohibited list that excludes Ireland and most of the EU as well as the US, UK and Australia. It suits players who prefer low-edge games and value transparency over a bonus. If you want a fast written payout target instead, compare BitStarz.

Stake: short answers

Is Stake licensed?

Yes. Medium Rare N.V., Curaçao company 145353, holds Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/1451/0918, named in clause 1.1 of the terms and on Stake’s licences page.

Can I play at Stake from Ireland or the UK?

No. Both are on the prohibited list in clause 14.3, along with the United States, Australia and most EU countries. Using a VPN to get round it breaches clause 14.4.

Does Stake have a welcome bonus?

There is no standard deposit match. New players can redeem a welcome code within 24 hours of signing up, and ongoing value comes from the VIP Club’s rakeback, boosts and reloads.

Must a Stake deposit be played before a cash-out?

Yes. Clauses 8.5 and 8.10 require 100% of a deposit to be wagered before any crypto or fiat withdrawal.

How long do Stake withdrawals take?

Stake does not publish a processing time or a maximum withdrawal. After a crypto payout leaves Stake, the time depends on the blockchain you use.

What is the house edge on Stake Dice?

One percent: the Dice game page lists a 99% return to player.
